Is it true that gay men aren't using condoms anymore?

Only a small proportion of gay men (around 18%) occasionally have sex without condoms with casual partners.

Lots of guys who do have unprotected sex with casual partners try to make sure that it's with a guy who has the same HIV status as themselves. In these circumstances it's absolutely vital that you and the guy you're with know your own HIV status - and disclose it to each other beforehand. Knowing means knowing and not relying on a negative test that you may have had three years - and lots of guys - ago.

Condoms. An annoyance, but an essential one.

James, HIV negative
